Aur Little Big Man is my dream stallion. Everyone has their own picture perfect horse in their minds eye. For me it has always been a buckskin. A sweet buckskin. With the advances of color genetics I have discovered there are dufferent kinds of color combinations that will produce a buckskin. This gave me a wider variety of breeds to cross with. I needed the right body type, and the right disposition to go along with the color. When we bred Angel to Chief I had high hopes, and was not dissapointed. It will be a couple of years before we will be able to see what kind of foals Little Big Man will drop, but I have no doubt that he will be a wonderful producer of fine half-Arabians.

Long before we actually decided to start breeding half-Arabians, I had been searching the internet for dilutes. As more and more genes were isolated and identified, I refined my search to the dilute genes that most appealed to my ideal. The two combinations that mostly apealed to me were the Silver Dapple fount mostly in the Mountain horses and combinations of the Champagne gene. Once I identified the color combination I had to decide on the breed that would best cross with our CMK Arabians. This was more difficult. In fact my search took about three years before I found the stallion who had the phenotype and the genotype I was looking for. Unlike many breeders who cross with Saddlebreds I chose a Quarter Horse. This young stallion while still unproven showed great promise, morover I felt he would be the best cross for several of our mares. I was not wrong. Aur Little Big Man (WP Bright Angel x Sierra Hesa Chief) is everything we could ask for in a half-Arabian Stud. As a bonus it would apear that like his sire he is a Sable Creme Dun. His color genetics have yet to be verified, however the Champagne, and Dun genes are quite evident. Any of our mares can be leased with a breeding to Chief. Lesee to pay for normal stud & collection fees.
